Ernest & Julio Gallo has launched a range of Chilean wines in the UK called Vina Chilcaya. The new range will initially only be available through the wholesale, independent and convenience sectors.
This offers smaller retailers the opportunity to market the product before the multiples begin to supply it later in the year.
There are three key tiers of Vina Chilcaya. Popular varietals include cabernet sauvigon, merlot, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc at an RRP of £5.49. Premium Reserva varietals include cabernet sauvignon, merlot and chardonnay at an RRP of £6.99. Super-premium Reserva Especial will be launched late this year with varietals including cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay with an RRP of £9.99.
Johanna Pereira, Vina Chilcaya's winemaker, commented: "Vina Chilcaya embodies the adventurous and passionate spirit of Chile. The wines are approachable, well balanced and delicate."
