Voting has been completed for the 2006 Drinksummit Vase for Innovation, the award which goes to a top drinks supplier every year at Drinksummit, the specific off licence forum presented by the Federation of Wholesale Distributors.

As the count continued, it became clear that the trophy is increasing in prestige as each year passes - no fewer than 15 suppliers have been nominated this year for new products or new concepts.

They are Carlsberg UK, Cellar Trends, Constellation Europe, Coors Brewers, Diageo, Gaymer Cider Company, Halewood International, InBev UK, Maxxium UK, Percy Fox, Pernod Ricard, Scottish & Newcastle, Beverage Brands, Bacardi BFF and Western Wines. The current holder is InBev.

Wholesalers have voted for their choice and the vase will be presented to the winner at the eve of conference informal dinner on June 8, accompanied by wines by courtesy of Pernod Ricard.

The event will be held at The Oxford Belfry, just off the M40 - and not The Belfry at Wishaw, also used by FWD - on June 8 & 9.

The business session features top wholesalers and suppliers speaking on the theme "What the local shopper wants. Discuss."

The 2006 Blueprint Retailer of the Year will be announced at the business session which will again feature a presentation on the Take Home Blueprint initiatives, focusing on another year of success and guidance for retailers in co-ordination with their wholesalers.
