Insights into the strategies of the leading companies in the wholesale sector will be revealed at the FWD's annual conference in April.

Speakers who have been confirmed include the recently appointed chief executive of Booker, Charles Wilson, who will be making his first appearance before an audience since his return to the company.

Philipp Dautzenberg, managing director of Makro, will give delegates an update on the progress of his company, and Mike Taylor, managing director of Musgrave Budgens Londis, will report on the evolution of the group as it divests its Budgens stores to local independent retailers.

Sugro managing director Philip Jenkins will be making a presentation after a year which has seen many developments for the group, and Martin Race, operations director at Batleys, will be speaking on progress since it was taken over by Bestway.

The traditional golf day, this year sponsored by Tetley GB, will precede the conference. To book contact the FWD (01323 724952, email hq@fwd-uk.com).
