Carlsberg UK has appointed Darran Britton as its new marketing director. Formerly brands director for ales and lagers, Britton (34) has been with Carlsberg since 1993 when he joined as a graduate trainee. Britton sits on the board of Carlsberg UK and is responsible for managing the combined brands and trade marketing team.
Commenting on the appointment, Carlsberg UK chief executive Doug Clydesdale said: "I am pleased to welcome Darran on to the board. He has played a key part in the development of our core brands in both the on and off trade over recent years. His broad commercial perspective and passion for our products will ensure we take the brands to the next level of growth."
Britton said: "I am looking forward to building on previous achievements right across our range of lagers and ales. We have exciting plans in the pipeline including new TV commercials, in-store and pub promotions and of course a great package around our sport sponsorship properties, particularly for our new Wembley Stadium deal and our England World Cup campaign. This is probably the best marketing job in the world!"
