Independent non-multiple retailers are to be invited to join the group driving the My Shop Is Your Shop (MSYS) campaign.
The FWD PR Action Group (PRAG) will ask individual activist retailer owner-managers to their next meeting to represent retail experience.
PRAG is finalising the biggest ever activity schedule for National Independents' Day on June 1st.
MSYS chairman Alan Toft said: "PRAG consists of leading wholesalers and supportive supplier representatives. We now hope to attract a small number of retailer activists to take part.
"PRAG is the most creative industry group now working on promoting the positives of the independent sector.
"We want the world to know there are independent retailers who are investing in their own future and serving their local community as only true independents can," he added.
