Musgrave looks for growth in UK

MBL's Irish parent company, Musgrave Group plc has announced pre-tax profits of e72.5m for the year to December 31, up 5% on the previous year, on turnover up 17% to e4.4bn.

This year's results are the first for a full year since the group took over Londis. It said the combined retail sales of Budgens and Londis were £1.8bn.

Hugh Mackeown, chairman, said: "Our vision for the future is to strengthen our core business, while continuing to grow trade outside of Ireland through consolidation in the UK."
