== Brakes just desserts ==

Brakes won three gold and three silver awards for new food products at the British Frozen Food Federation Annual Awards.

It won all three awards in the Best New Desserts Category, including gold for its Brakes Premiere French Apricot Tartlette, and also took gold medals with Brakes Premiere Caramelised Onion, Pear and Fig Cheesecake and Brakes Thick Cut 5.9ers French Fries.

== Best for Bestway ==

According to the Sunday Times KPMG Top Track 100, listing Britain's 100 biggest private companies, Bestway Cash & Carry group has risen to position number 21 from 27 last year.

The league table is ranked by sales turnover.

== Name change ==

TM Retail Group has been re-branded as Martin McColl. TM Retail has already announced that it is to re-brand all of its 1,300 shops as either Martins or McColls. The company is changing its name to support the re-branding of the stores and reinforce its high street profile.

== MBO for Pasta King ==

Matrix Private Equity Partners has financed the MBO of Pasta King, alongside management and HSBC (Exeter). Pasta King supplies Compass, IKEA, Sodexho and universities including Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Exeter.

It is based in Newton Abbot, Devon, and employs 40 people.

== Lucky Bags delivery ==

Confectionery manufacturer Mr Lucky Bags has appointed a new distributor in Northern Ireland, LMI Foods.

LMI has a 53,000sq ft warehouse in Antrim and will distribute Mr Lucky Bags to multiples, symbol groups, cash and carries, foodservice wholesalers, off licences and hotels.
