Today's Group member Dee Bee Cash & Carry has bought confectionery and tobacco delivered wholesale business CL Ostick, in Retford, Nottingham, in a bid to expand its customer base and increase usage of the Today's group fascia.

The acquisition represents a £1.8m investment for Dee Bee. Under the deal the Ostick depot has closed and customers are now receiving their orders from Dee Bee.

Eight of Ostick's staff - four sales representatives and four office staff - and previous owner Penny Ostick, have relocated to work with Dee Bee, based at its headquarters in Grimsby.

Craig O'Connor, Dee Bee managing director, commented: "We want our new customers to feel comfortable with us as new suppliers and keeping the personnel that they are used to will help to boost their confidence in us."

To cope with the additional customers, Dee Bee has invested in three new delivery trucks as well as drivers and two extra pickers.
