Bestway has launched the Best-In Club, which offers its retailer members a regular promotional programme and exclusive discounts.

The club idea was launched by Batleys as Xtra Local last year, and is now being extended to Bestway Cash and Carry customers.

The promotions will run for five-week buying in and three-week selling cycles and will comprise about 35 products which the retailer must agree to sell at the promotional price during the three-week promotional out period.

A full promotions kit comes with the membership package, which provides the retailer with in-store POS materials including posters and bespoke leaflets for hand-dropping in the locality of the store to promote the special offers directly to consumers.

Independent retailers can apply for membership, which is free, at selected Bestway depots.

Bestway managing director Younus Sheikh said: "The success that Batleys has seen from the launch of its Xtra Local Club has encouraged us to start a similar scheme for Bestway customers. Initially we will pilot the customers in seven of the branches - Darwen, Gateshead, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Oldbury and Stockport - and then roll out the scheme across the remainder of the network."
