Toyota Industrial Equipment has made a number of improvements to the design of its 7FBMF forklift range, which is widely used in the food and drink sector. The electric powered trucks ensure there are no diesel or gas emissions in food and drink handling environments.
Key developments include new user-friendly mini levers, positioned on the armrest, superior acceleration and breaking, speed control and a built-in system to ensure the truck will not roll up or down a gradient when the accelerator is released. Extra safety is included with operator presence sensing, which will not allow any functions to operate until the driver is fully seated.
Toyota Industrial Equipment said comfortable forklift drivers improve safety as they concentrate better on the job at hand. Good ergonomics minimises fatigue and stress as well as helping to protect the driver from injuries, back and neck problems. David Moore, national customer and sales support manager at Toyota Industrial Equipment, said: "As environmental demands see the popularity of the electric forklift continue to grow, Toyota is constantly innovating to ensure ever increasing customer satisfaction."
