Hopkinson Catering has awarded King UK a three-year sole supply contract to supply and manage non food products to its sites across the UK.

Hopkinson Catering has more than 70 catering and support service contracts, covering business and industry, healthcare and education.

King will be supplying Hopkinson Catering with a full range of disposables, utensils, tableware and cleaning and hygiene products, plus bespoke print items.

King stocks more than 8,300 active product lines which include a core range of 2,500 of the most commonly used non-food products and beverages. It has a fleet of 170 commercial vehicles, making over 16,000 deliveries a week.

Sources said the contract was a multi million pound deal. It will be the first time that King and Hopkinson Catering have worked together. Previously Hopkinson Catering's contract was held by Bunzl.

David Houslander, director of Hopkinson Catering, said: "King impressed us by demonstrating a sound understanding of our operational needs."

Kevin Hesketh, account manager or King UK Contracts, said: "Both King and Hopkinson have a strong corporate philosophy on providing outstanding service."
