Booker has announced that from the beginning of April it now accepts payment by credit card.

Previously there were three payment options - cash, cheque or debit cards. From April 1 credit cards can be used in all of its 172 depots, although there is a 1% administration charge and American Express, Diners & JCB are still not accepted.

"Booker is working hard to improve our service," said sales director Warren Thomson.

"We want to make trading with Booker as easy as possible. The new payment method is quick and convenient and I am confident this will be a useful option for our customers."
