McKay: wide experience in management |
Brakes has appointed Frank McKay as group chief executive officer, taking over from Bruno Deschamps, who has been acting as ceo and chairman and will continue as chairman of the group’s holding company.
Frank McKay has extensive industry and leadership experience. Most recently he was chief executive of builders merchants Travis Perkins, where he presided over an almost quadrupling of the company’s market capitalisation. Prior to that he was a main board member of Blue Circle Industries plc and ceo of Blue Circle’s Heating Division. Previously, he served in executive and senior management positions in the UK, France and US with Siebel plc and Rockwell International.
Deschamps said: “Frank is a highly talented and energetic leader who brings with him a wealth of expertise gained from more than 30 years experience in various senior management roles in the UK, France and US. Frank’s extensive experience of customer service, distribution and branch management is a great fit for Brakes as we move the company forward to the next phase of profitable growth.”
McKay commented: “Brakes is the clear market leader in the UK and a strong player in France with the potential to become the leading foodservice distributor in Europe.
