Shaw describes the Blueprint as invaluable

Cash and carry wholesalers are linking with their retailers to implement the Blueprint initiatives covering beers, ciders, wines, spirits and ARTDs.

Under a new strategy, clusters of independent retailers nominated by their wholesaler are receiving visits by Blueprint advisors to drive sales.

IMA Group, the Manchester agency which is responsible for managing the Blueprints in the marketplace on behalf of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors, reports increasing interest from wholesalers.

Scheme director Ross Shelley told ProWholesaler: “We are now entering a new phase in the development of the activity.

“Over the last few years we have been proving at retail level that the Blueprints have integrity and that they boost retailers’ sales in every makeover.

“The success rate has been phenomenal. Supporters who were waiting for evidence that these schemes work are now convinced by the large number of case studies we produce.

“It’s now time for this proved concept to be provided for clusters of retailers nominated by caring wholesalers.”

Bestway, Dhamecha, Makro, Costco and Turner & Wright are already working with the Blueprint team – and other wholesalers await confirmation.

“This means more wholesalers are working with their retailers to maximise the huge opportunity for profit which exists in the local store off licence sector,” said Shelley.

John Shaw of Turner & Wright told ProWholesaler: ”We are finding the Blueprints and the support provided by the IMA team absolutely invaluable. This is growing our retailers’ businesses – and ours.”
