Gurr: one lead group will help harmonisation |
Blueheath has moved to rationalise its buying group membership after its acquisitions left it with membership of four separate groups. Nisa-Today’s will become Blueheath Holdings’ primary buying group with effect from February 1 and the company will resign from Landmark on January 31.
However, Blueheath’s recent acquisitions, AC Ward and Wrexham-based CTM, will continue to be members of both Nisa-Today’s and their respective secondary buying groups, Key Lekkerland and Sugro.
Blueheath ceo Douglas Gurr explained that being part of a single primary buying group across its three operations would aid harmonisation of ranges, prices and promotions.
Martin Williams, managing director of Landmark Wholesale, said: “It is disappointing to lose a member, particularly one that was so desperate to join the leading professional wholesale group in the UK just two years ago.”
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
