3663 has continued its programme of opening new and upgraded facilities with the replacement of its Harlow site with a new multi-temperature depot at the nearby Harlow Business Park, Essex.

The new depot will deliver to more than 5,000 customers, and is set to take on additional business in 2006 boosting that figure by about 20%.

Depot general manager Mark O’Neill commented: “The time had come to re-locate to a site which met our specific operational requirements. Being purpose-built, the new location provides a fantastic working environment and real potential for growth.”

He added: “The decision to build in close proximity to the previous site forms part of 3663’s commitment to develop new sites within reasonable distance of the one they are due to replace. It helps with staff retention and I am pleased that every current employee from the previous Harlow depot has been transferred to the new site.”

The new depot has been built to high environmental standards with features such as a rain-water harvesting system for the vehicle wash and all office lighting on-site is sensor operated.

O’Neill said: “I have been with 3663 for 20 years, and have progressed from a van assistant to a depot general manager, Harlow being the second depot that I have been fortunate to manage. This was a fantastic opportunity to oversee the transition to the new site and the whole team has really pulled together to see this through.”
