When Justin King, chief executive of Sainsbury, appeared on BBC Breakfast early morning TV, he lost no time in plugging the low prices that his stores offer consumers.
Now Alan Toft, chairman of the My Shop Is Your Shop (MSYS) campaign, has written to the BBC seeking similar exposure for the benefits offered by local shops when MSYS hits the screens.
He said: “We can reasonably ask for fair play and a similar opportunity to put over commercial messages for wholesalers’ customers when we have the chance.”
