Sarah Wright of 3663, Stowmarket, scooped the Pritchitts ProWholesaler Telesales Achiever Award 2005 at the Catersummit Gala Dinner at Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth.
Designed to recognise and reward the role of telesales operators, the award followed three rounds of a competition involving more than 200 telesales staff.
She said: “Winning the award has given me a real confidence boost as it is always a bonus to know you are good at what you do. But the best thing about winning is the recognition that the award gives telesales, as there are a lot of people who feel undervalued. But I now know people further up the ladder value me and the contribution I make to the business.”
As well as winning the title, Sarah also received £1,000. Fellow finalists, Lee Gilbey of DBC, Newmarket, and Linda Soloman from Brakes, Bristol, each received £250 runners-up prizes.
Simon Muschamp, head of marketing for the competition’s sponsor Pritchitts, said: “All of the entrants demonstrated a high level of professionalism, an ability to listen to customers, sort out their problems and still hit their targets. Sarah’s outgoing personality and air of confidence stood out, however, and in her I really believe we have achieved the aims of the competition this year and found the best telesales person the industry has.”
For the first time this year, Pritchitts also presented an award to the top performing telesales depot in the competition. DBC, Newmarket in Suffolk, where finalist Lee Gilby was the winner. The team were awarded £500.
