Saunders will be part of trading department

Peter Saunders has been appointed foodservice controller at Landmark central office. He joins from Landmark member Blakemore Food Service, where he was trading and marketing controller with responsibility for sourcing ambient, frozen, chilled and non foods.

Saunders, who will work within the trading department at Milton Keynes, will also liaise closely with marketing to continue the development of Landmark’s foodservice business begun by Martin Hawkes, who recently left.

Landmark’s foodservice and cash and carry catering business has grown significantly over recent years, currently accounting for sales of over £550m, some 30% of group turnover, and is one of the group’s key areas for development.

The Landmark membership includes major foodservice players Blakemore Food Service, DBC, Henderson’s Foodservice (formerly TNB), Battricks (Jersey), Edward Paul, William Yule & Son, Sutherland Bros, Martex and Lowries Foodservice.

Saunder’s priorities will be to co-ordinate group activities with a dedicated national foodservice promotional programme, continue the revitalisation, expansion and relaunch of the Caterers Kitchen brand including a foodservice label with revised product specifications, and to promote the Landmark foodservice and cash and carry catering proposition to a wider market.

Saunders had spent nearly nine years with Blakemore Food Service at Darlaston in the West Midlands, having previously been employed by Rover at Longbridge.
