Blueheath has been chosen by Intervend to supply a range of food and toiletries for its vending operations in Travelodge hotels.

Blueheath will provide snacks, ready-made meals, confectionery, and toiletry products to the vending specialist to enable it to serve all Travelodge hotels.

Travelodge has 274 hotels with plans for extensive growth, including the addition of 2,500 rooms in 2005 alone.

Blueheath chief executive Douglas Gurr said: “Our website ordering technology, next-day delivery and overall flexibility combine perfectly with Intervend’s systems and have helped us get off to an encouraging start.”

Intervend director Bernard Wright said: “Working with Blueheath has become key to our business. Initially we assessed them on the fundamentals of service, product range, pricing and flexibility. However it soon became clear there were significant benefits for us in their technology based systems.

“The Bueheath way of working means we do not have to invest valuable cash resources in carrying stock or operating large warehouse facilities.”
