Offer one piece of advice to help suppliers succeed with you: be honest and have a positive attitude towards our business. Too many suppliers come up with reasons why they can’t support a local initiative, rather than thinking about how they can better support us in selling their brands.

My vote for the best recent new product launch goes to: Nestlé Rowntree’s new Willy Wonka chocolate product range
Gripe of the month: (what upsets you most about supplier policies): suppliers who do not have a satisfactory damages resolution policy. We simply do not have the margins to be able to absorb the costs of damages, and often damages are down to poor packaging from the suppliers.
