Registrations are accelerating for the annual conference of the UK wholesale industry which takes place at The De Vere Belfry on April 18 and 19.

Presented by the Federation of Wholesale Distributors, the line-up of speakers represents every facet of the sector and the issues in which it is involved.

Competition issues will be dealt with in papers by the Office of Fair Trading and a separate paper by Michael Hutchings, a veteran of competition court battles in the UK and in Brussels.

Dr Jim Quinn, of Trinity College, Dublin, will review the differences between wholesaling in the UK and in Ireland.

Wholesale presentations will include those by Mike Taylor, managing director of Musgrave Budgens-Londis, and Philipp Dautzenberg, managing director of Makro UK, both of whom make debut appearances at the biggest wholesale conference of the year.
