One piece of advice to help suppliers succeed with us: take the time to learn more about the wholesale sector, using our data sources and sharing information available to you, and get a better understanding of what works well for us and our customers.
The best promotion currently running with customers is: Blakemore’s exclusive Hotspot promotions deliver the best uplift in volume across our business. Currently we are running buy two get one free deals on different snack products which work really well for us. KP Hula Hoops has been the best performer in the category using this mechanic.
The best current TV/press advertising: McCoy’s Specials
The best new product launch this year is: Snapz (a dried apple snack made famous by Jamie Oliver’s school meals campaign)
Gripe of the month: what is the issue you have with us buying your brands from alternative sources? If your pricing was fair across all markets we shouldn’t be able to buy your products cheaper elsewhere. At the end of the day it makes business sense for us to purchase products at the best prices we can get – and we are still distributing your brands!
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
