Délifrance UK has launched a chocolate filled brioche aiming to add French sophistication to caterers' offering.

According to Délifrance, one quarter of desserts launched in the UK in the last two years have been chocolate based, confirming the nation as chocolate lovers.

The Broiche has crushed hazelnuts and chocolate in pastry, and is designed to have a home made look. It can be served as a breakfast snack, a dessert or individually for a buffet. It is ready to thaw and serve in two hours and is sold in packs of 30.

Lucy Pickersgill, category manager of Délifrance UK, said: "In our 25th anniversary year we are keeping our fingers on the pulse. Chocolate is a popular flavour with the majority of bakery products. We are proud to be launching the first ever Chocolate and Hazelnut Brioche and will continue to innovate providing top quality products."
