Landmark Wholesale is launching a campaign designed to encourage consumers to change their shopping habits.

The 'shop often, shop local, spend less with Lifestyle Express' campaign follows the comments from Gordon Brown about food wastage. Landmark aims to create consumer awareness on how replacing their big weekly shop at the multiples with smaller, more often stops at their local convenience stores can help them spend less, save money and reduce the amount of food that goes to waste each week.

Martin Williams, managing director of Landmark Wholesale, said: "These are challenging economic times and we feel that Lifestyle Express can play a vital role in helping to ease the pressure on consumers. Consumers have got into the habit of doing a weekly big shop at the supermarkets, but what they purchase at the weekend has either lost its appeal or is out of date come the end of the week, wasting food and their money.

"Our campaign is trying to encourage shoppers to use their local shops, like Lifestyle Express, and shop more often, shop local and spend less. With fuel prices soaring and the cost of living becoming more expensive, never has the time been more appropriate for consumers to check out the good value and offers available on their doorstep."
