MSYS activists are now convinced that after five years of successful implementation of the activity there is enough evidence from retail level to justify the introduction of a 'MSYS Guarantee' of an increase in sales for those retailers who adopt the campaign principles.
Obtaining information from the fragmented independent sector on the effectiveness of MSYS is not easy - independents are often shy about the success of their business.
But anecdotal and statistical data reports from the many-faceted nature of the small shops sector has now persuaded MSYS that it can guarantee increases in sales if the simple ethos of involvement in the community is adopted by any retailer in any location.
There is no one-size-fits-all rule. Every shop is different. But the PR Action Group (PRAG) will discuss the idea at its next meeting in September.
