Brakes is aiming to help caterers take advantage of the increasing demand for healthier food by adding 20 new products to its Healthier Choices range, and is already working on developing more.

The move doubles the number of Healthier Choices products and, according to Brakes, makes it the largest range of prepared foods in foodservice with lower levels of fat, sodium and sugar.

The existing range included eight healthier foods focusing on popular products in the education/children’s sector. The additions widen the range of products to make them suitable for pubs, restaurants, business and industry caterers and sandwich bars.

Brakes group chief executive Bill Driscoll said: “This expansion of the Healthier Choices range will help more customers to meet increasing consumer demand for healthy options and boost their sales and profits.”
