Martex sets up promotion with football theme

The Martex cash & carry division of Scotland-based CJ Lang & Son Limited has launched a new promotion for summer.

'Kick Off' is themed around the European football championships and is available in all depots throughout June.

In addition to the standard promotion package, the group is offering four one-week promotions encompassing approximately 30 deals each week. A mail-out campaign is being conducted, with a new promotion leaflet being sent out to retailers for each of the four weeks. Products featured cover all retail categories including grocery, CTN, licensed and tobacco.

As part of the promotion, each time customers enter a depot they will be able to take part in a prize draw.

Grant Scrimgeour, wholesale controller, said: "Although the home international teams have not qualified for the championships, consumers will still watch the games and get behind the tournament. The superb deals featured in our Kick Off promotion will allow retailers to maximise sales and profit during what will be a key selling period for them.

"The promotion has generated interest and excitement from our customer base and some of the prizes already claimed include a football table, digital camera and a microwave oven with grill - with many more to follow."
