Leading wholesalers and suppliers will address the annual conference of the Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) in June.
Speakers will include Booker's sales director Warren Thomson, Wing Yip's managing director Brian Yip, Scottish and Newcastle's trading director Kim Francis, Bellevue's managing director Graham Benson, 3663's group sales director Andy Kemp, and Gordon & MacPhail's managing director David Urquhart. There will also be speakers from Gallaher, Gaymer Cider Company and Mars.
To reflect the fact that 2008 is an Olympics year, the conference theme is Winning with Winners, and the guest speaker will be former Olympic athletics coach, Frank Dick OBE.
SWA president Norman Wemyss, freetrade sales and business development director at 3663, will outline the achievements of the SWA over the last 12 months and the challenges facing members and the wider wholesale industry over the coming year.
Kate Salmon, executive director of the SWA, said: "I am delighted that we have secured such a high-profile line-up of speakers for our 2008 conference. Again, we have very senior figures from the industry covering both the retail and catering sectors."
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
