Blakemore Wholesale is launching a new delivered solution for catering and on-trade customers, under the banner b: direct.
It will provide a multi-temperature 'one stop shop' food and drink delivery service offering a range of alcohol, fresh foods, chilled, frozen, grocery, soft drinks, snacks and non-foods specifically aimed at caterers and on-traders.
A key aspect of the new range will be a selection of premium, locally sourced products from Heart of England Fine Foods (HEFF) along with an assortment of Fairtrade lines.
Richard Smith, business development manager for b:direct, explained: "This is a major new development for Blakemore Wholesale, part of a larger effort to target caterers and on-trade customers, with the time saving combination of the new delivery service and the new range available in depot."
b: direct will offer caterers and on-trade customers a 'one order, one delivery, one invoice' service with next-day delivery available if the order is placed before 12pm on all ranges including alcohol, fresh produce, meat and fish.
The service is initially being launched to over 3,000 customers in the West Midlands area, operating out of Blakemore Wholesale's head office at Wolverhampton Science Park, but plans are in place to expand this across Blakemore's other nine depots to offer a national service.
Smith added: "We believe that the combination of a complete range of product categories, all delivered and invoiced at short notice, is exactly what caterers and on-trade operators require.
"Our partnership with HEFF will also provide a unique selling point."
b: direct will be launched on April 28 and will be supported by a 180-page full-colour catalogue.
