A new 30,000sq ft cash and carry dedicated to the needs of caterers has opened in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Hub Wholesale Club has been set up by managing director Tony Overton, former MD of BWG UK and regional director at Booker, and commercial director Bryan Drew, who is also a former Booker director. Overton said the new operation supplied all caterers’ business needs and achieved very competitive prices by keeping to a tight focused range of about 4,000 lines.

In addition, there is a range of other not-for-sale non food items such as wide-screen TVs and trampolines.

“We have identified a gap in the market serving the catering trade away from the larger conurbations, and we have had a tremendous reaction from the customer base,” said Overton

He said they already had plans to open at a second

depot in September, and several other locations were being considered.
