Organisers of CRS say that this year's Convenience Retailing Show is set to be a bigger success than last year.

Matthew Butler, event director, said: "Attendance for CRS 2007, with more than 7,200 visitors, was a massive improvement on all our previous shows and that's because we'd listened to what retailers wanted."

A key part of the show will be the Information for the Independent area with workshops covering key trends and issues.

Sandwich & Snack Solutions which was well received last year will also return. According to the organisers, 70% of visitors to CRS are independent traders and Butler said: "Information and advice is what we are offering independents and it's all free. We want to help them build their businesses and succeed in what is an extremely competitive marketplace."

Other key product categories that will feature at CRS 2008 include impulse items such as confectionery, alcohol, fruit and vegetables both fresh and frozen and newspapers/magazines.

CRS will take place alongside Food and Drink Expo at the NEC in Birmingham on April 6-9.
