AF Blakemore has opened a new 65,000sq ft warehouse, dubbed Axcess 10.
Situated less than two miles from Blakemore's Willenhall headquarters and close to junction 10 on the M6 motorway, the new depot will take some of the pressure off the Willenhall depot.
Axcess 10 has eight metre high eaves and can accommodate 4,500 standard pallets. It also houses additional office suites and complementary parking facilities. The retail distribution team, and support desk have already transferred to the new building.
It has accommodated an ambient range extension of around 800 lines which include international foods, free-from products, wines and beers.
The 246,000sq ft Willenhall depot is currently being reconfigured to add a new canteen and a recycling centre, to help to reduce its carbon footprint.
It will also be able to provide more space within its chilled facility to accommodate range and volume growth.
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
