The FWD annual Gold Medal Awards, now in its 20th year, recognises and rewards leading individuals and suppliers in the trade. This year saw Gallaher Limited win gold for best trade advertising in ProWholesaler magazine.
Gallaher's advertisements have helped to keep the distributive channel up to date with brand and market information during a busy year within the tobacco category. Judges also cited September's 'Wholesaler to Retailer' activity, which observed how Gallaher works with cash and carry customers to improve tobacco rooms and also included advice for retailers on how to shop the category.
Jeremy Blackburn, communications manager at Gallaher, said: "Tobacco is an extremely important category for cash and carry and wholesale businesses, accounting for approximately 40% of turnover. We will continue to communicate and inform on all of the issues affecting the industry, ensuring that we provide support and advice to our customers.
"We are delighted to have been acknowledged for our hard work in 2007 by winning the FWD Gold Award, which demonstrates our continued commitment to the distributive trade."
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
