Unilever Foodsolutions has teamed up with Huhtamaki, a consumer and speciality packaging company, to launch Knorr Soup2Go.
Laurence Smith, category marketing director of Unilever Foodsolutions, said: "Combining the choice of delicious Knorr soups with the convenience of the Huhtamaki manufactured Knorr Soup2Go cup, allows customers to take their favourite soup away with them wherever they are."
Unilever Foodsolutions says that the decline in lunch breaks provides an opportunity for caterers, and that consumers want a quick and tasty meal, but they are also aware of health issues.
Smith said: "Soup is the ideal choice for health conscious consumers on the move as it can be eaten at any time of the day and is more nutritionally balanced than many other convenience food options."
