Dee Bee Cash & Carry in Grimsby has become the first member to trial and then implement Today's Plan for Profit initiative.
The initiative is designed to help wholesalers and retailers promote stock and must-have lines. The Dee Bee depot trialled the initiative for three months and has now decided to install it fully.
Ranges are communicated to members through advice leaflets with the Plan for Profit strapline, giving advice on the correct ranges to be stocked in each commodity. Bespoke merchandising equipment is available for inside depots designed for maximum impact.
A version of the initiative, designed specifically for delivered wholesalers, will be rolled out in the first and second quarters of 2008.
Craig O'Connor, managing director of Dee Bee Cash & Carry in Grimsby, said: "This type of scheme works extremely well in providing our members with the essential information they need to be successful. We are looking forward to the second phase to incorporate this initiative within our delivered PLOFs, providing our customers with a total Plan for Profits."
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
