Booker has appointed Garry Stimpson into the newly created role of merchandising controller.
Stimpson's primary focus will be to develop formats and layouts of independent stores to maximise sales and profits for retailers. He will be looking at improving merchandising ideas and solutions as well as implementing range recommendations.
Stimpson has over 20 years experience with food retailing and managed multiple nationally based conversion projects with end to end responsibility. He has had a range of operating and merchandising roles including the conversion of 50 Safeway stores to the Morrisons' estate.
Stimpson will be reporting to Steve Fox, director of retail and Premier development.
Stimpson said: "This is a fantastic challenge to make a real difference to the success of independent stores. I am really looking forward to supporting our customers and developing solutions."
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
