Bestway holds its awards at the V&A

The contribution of staff and suppliers was celebrated at the Bestway Performance Awards ceremony held in the Raphael Gallery at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The awards are decided as a result of votes by managers and staff across the Bestway and Batleys business, and by suppliers.

Zameer Choudrey, chief executive of the Bestway Group, said:"These awards have gained a reputation for recognising professionalism at every level of our business."

Khizar Raja of Bestway, Liverpool, was Overall Manager of the year, winning £2,000 and a trophy, and Depot of the year was Batleys, Southampton. This award was collected jointly by current manager Paul Duce and former manager Anton James, who has just taken over the new Gillingham depot.

Runner-up Manager was Paul Rabone, of Batleys, West Bromwich, and Bestway, Northampton was Runner-up Branch.

Other awards were: Bestway Head Office Employee, David Smith, Training Department; Batleys Head Office Employee, Charlotte John, Accounts; Bestway Head Office Department, Central Ordering; and Batleys Head Office Department was IT.

White Pearl Branch of the year was Bestway, Manchester; Best in Branch, Batleys, Newcastle; Catering Sales, Bestway, Cardiff; Catering Sales Runner-up, Bestway; and the Catering Sales Development award went to Bestway Leicester.

Most innovative supplier of the year was Walkers PepsiCo and supplier of the year was United Biscuits.
