Parfetts Cash & Carry has restructured its senior management team following the creation of a new retail operations department to develop the company-owned convenience fascia Local4U.

The retail operations department is based at Somercotes and Richard Mason, previously deputy general, has been appointed retail operations manager.

James Underwood, who was formerly senior buyer, has been appointed deputy general manager to replace Mason.

Peter Twidell, formerly grocery and household buyer at Parfett's, Halifax, has been appointed deputy operations manager to assist Mason on the Local4U format development.

Eight new sites are to be converted to the Local4U format, which includes an extensive chilled range, Epos system, cash machine and access for disabled customers.

Steve Parfett, managing director, said: "Both James and Peter have been with Parfetts for many years, and both will bring their vast experience of the independent wholesale sector to their new roles."
