Today's Group trading director Nick Barker said that the group's grocery category continued to be its leading performer at +11.6%, with +31.1% across general grocery, +23.6% in tea and +14.5% for breakfast cereals.

The group also reported strong non-food sales with household laundry at +13.5%, petcare at +2% and paper at +7%. In addition, the impulse category traded at +8.7% and within licensed, cider was at +13% with spirits rising +14.2%.
