The most talented people in the wholesale channel were celebrated by a sell-out audience at the FWD Annual Dinner & Gold Medal Awards at the Café Royal in London.

The event was the 50th anniversary of the Gold Medals, and was sponsored by AG Parfett & Sons and Mars UK.

There were joint winners of the Young Wholesaler of the Year, with Gold Medals awarded to Nick Ramsden, managing director of Dee Bee Cash & Carry and Colm Johnson, director of trading, retail, at Booker.

Grant Scrimgeour, wholesale controller at CJ Lang won the Independent Cash and Carry Manager of the Year Gold Medal and the Multiple Cash and Carry Manager of the Year Gold Medal was awarded to Martin Sandler, warehouse manager of Costco, Manchester.

The Independent Delivered Depot Manager of the Year Gold Medal was awarded to Nick Paul, managing director of Edward Paul & Co, and Peter Gaunt, distribution centre manager at 3663, Royton, received the Gold Medal for Multiple Delivered Depot Manager of the Year.

Mohammed Jamil, business development manager of Bestway's Best-in retail club, won the Wholesaler Service to Retailers Gold Medal and the Gold Medal for Wholesaler Service to Caterers was awarded to Martin Hartshorne, fruit and vegetable manager at Booker.
