The Council of Members of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors gave a dinner at the Savoy Hotel, London, in May for Alan Toft, to mark his retirement after 16 years as director general.

Past presidents attended including Barry Skipper, Peter Garvin, Steve Parfett, Alastair Stoddart and Ken Knowland.

FWD chairman Rodney Hunt paid tribute to Toft’s achievements and presented him with a laptop computer on behalf of the membership.

John Murphy has taken over as director general. Toft continues as chairman of the My Shop Is Your Shop and Blueprint campaigns.
