Pradip Dhamecha: sales encouraging

Dhamecha Cash and Carry is maintaining growth after reporting turnover of £271m for the year to March, compared with £258m the previous year.

Chief executive Pradip Dhamecha said the returns from the first five weeks of the new financial year had been encouraging, and it was now a matter of maintaining the momentum.

He said development of its new Day 1 fascia group was going well with 30 stores now operating under the fascia and the target was to have 100 by the end of March 2006.

“Retailers in the group have had very positive sales increases and they are acting as ambassadors to other retailers,” he said. Recruitment for the Privileged Customer Club was also going well, he said, with 325 retailers signed up across Dhamecha’s five depots.
