Research consultancy Him is planning a Delivered Wholesale Tracking Programme to complement its C&C Tracking Programmes covering independent retailers and caterers.
The two existing programmes, which have run for seven and two years respectively, are based on interviews with the retailers and caterers as they are shopping at cash and carries and provide a wide range of insights into their motivations.
The new programme will aim to provide delivered wholesale and suppliers clients with information allowing them to predict future trends better, based on customer insight, and to identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and grow category sales.
It will also enable delivered wholesalers to benchmark their performance against other participating wholesalers.
Him director Tom Fender said the programme was originally envisaged as a study of retailers only, but there had been several enquiries about caterers, and it would cover them too if sufficient demand existed.
Will Government proposals to ban the display of tobacco in retail premises damage the wholesale sector?
