One of the best known faces in the wholesale industry, Chris Rose, marketing director of Landmark Wholesale, has announced his retirement date.

Rose will leave Landmark on May 30 2008, after his last Landmark Annual Conference in Cape Town.

As marketing director, Rose has been responsible for strategic sales development, marketing and PR as well as developing key initiatives in revenue and with suppliers.

Landmark managing director Martin Williams, said: "We have started our recruitment process for Chris' replacement, but he is a hard act to follow - being an outright workaholic and so dedicated to his job. We wish him all the best on his deserved retirement in May next year."

Prior to joining Landmark's head office team in October 2002, Rose was sales and marketing director of one of the group's largest members, Blakemore Cash & Carry.

He was already well known among Landmark's wholesale members and its retail customers and had been a representative of Blakemore on the Landmark board.
