3663 has signed a joint venture agreement with Al Islami, a Halal food producer from the United Arab Emirates, to distribute its range of Halal meat products in the UK.
Under the terms of the agreement 3663 will process and distribute Halal meat products on Al Islami's behalf.
Plans are currently being finalised to increase capacity at the existing 3663 processing plant in Manchester to accommodate the new range and the first Al Islami fresh and frozen products will available to customers by October.
Fred Barnes, chief executive of 3663, said: "There is a growing demand for Halal products in the UK retail and foodservice market. The Halal food market in the UK is estimated to be worth more than £900m and by teaming up with Al Islami we are able to offer our customers a wide range of Halal meat products.
"Al Islami has strong business credentials - they have been producing Halal meat ranges since the early 1970s and the company conforms to the exacting standards we demand from our business partners."
