Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks has upgraded the productivity of its 24-volt three-wheel, FBKRT electric counterbalance series.

They have been renamed as FBKRT PAC series and are available in 1.0, 1.25 and 1.5 tonne capacity trucks that are aimed at the manufacturing and warehouse sectors.

The trucks are designed for easy operation by relatively inexperienced workers with the minimum of instruction, according to Mitsubishi. The manoeuvrability in tight spaces has been developed - it will turn circles within its own dimensions, and its hydrostatic power steering is designed to offer precise positioning. The auto-style pedals are designed to avoid leg strain, the steering column is adjustable and the controls have been designed with ergonomics in mind.

Terry Foreman, general manager of Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks UK, said: "Its manoeuvrability in tight spaces is amazing and it's incredibly simple to operate. But despite its small size and price tag it gives the sort of productivity and driver satisfaction that only a bigger, more expensive truck would normally deliver."
