Dave Birch has been appointed contract manager for MBL, based at the retailer service centre in Wellingborough.
This is a new role for MBL and Birch will be responsible for the delivery of service through management of the contract with Gist, the third party running the depot. His role involves communicating between MBL and Gist, being on site and making sure KPIs (key performance indicators) are achieved.
Birch previously worked for Tesco in a variety of roles. His last role was as project manager with logistics development.
Scott Wharton, supply chain director of MBL, said: "The contract manager role at Wellingborough is a key enabler in ensuring that Budgens retailers receive the best logistics service in the grocery market. Dave brings a wealth of experience to the role to ensure that we can step change the performance of the retailer service centre."
