Brakes won the Best Wholesaler category at The Grocer Gold Awards.

The judges commented that Brakes was the first wholesaler to tackle the green issue, and also highlighted its brand refreshment programme and its work in combating obesity, including its support to school caterers and innovative product development.

== Bestway moves up ==

Bestway Group has risen to the country's 14th largest private company, according to the Sunday Times KPMG Top Track 100 top private companies. The Group has moved up to 14th position from 21st last year, with a turnover of £1.673bn in the last financial year.
