Archie Gilchrist, commercial director of the Spar Scotland wholesaler, Dundee-based CJ Lang & Son, was presented with the accolade at the Scottish Local Retailer (SLR) Awards.

Gilchrist has been involved in the industry for 45 years, 31 of them with Spar.

In his acceptance speech Gilchrist said: "I never expected to receive such an accolade from my peers within the industry but I am very proud to be the recipient and I thank all concerned for making the 45 years so enjoyable."
